Is this Superman's Fortress of Solitude? No. But it could very well be the movie's real life movie set. It is Cueva de los Cristales (Cave of Crystals) and it contains the world's largest known natural crystals of gypsum that are as long as 11 meters.How did the crystals reach such super-sizes? For thousands of years, the crystals thrived in the cave's stable natural environment. Temperatures were a steamy 58 degrees Celsius. Because of the mineral-rich water, the growth of the crystals increased dramatically.
